תהלים

At times of challenge we turn to תהלים

Life is filled with moments of joy and moments of struggle. For centuries, Jews have turned to Tehillim as a source of comfort, guidance, and hope during life’s most difficult times.

Whether said in private or in with a tzibur, Tehillim remains a timeless vessel of spiritual connection and strength.

Below you will find videos that explain the perakim most commonly said during challenging times.

פרק כ

This perek was authored to beseech Hashem for success against our enemies. However there is an additional emphasis as we ask Hashem to validate His chosen nation.

פרק י”ג

In this perek of Tehillim, Dovid Hamelech expresses extreme feelings of rejection and yet he concludes with hope and joy. What is the secret? The answer is found in this chapter as well.

פרק פ”ג

It evokes the struggles and conflicts that repeat themselves throughout the ages. Yet it presents itself as a chapter of joy and exuberance. Join us as we explore three stories in history that help us understand this powerful chapter, in addition to the translation and other insights.

פרק קכ”א

As we continue to live in a time of war with indescribable occurrences that defy comprehension, we all cry out to Hashem for salvation and help.  This chapter emphasizes the concept that our true salvation comes from Hashem.

פרק ק”ל

This is one of the classic chapters recited at times of need and challenge. It is also strongly associated with the Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. We present an approach that allows us to understand these two elements and how they both are part of our relationship with our Creator.

פרק קמ”ב

This perek describes the Tefillah of Dovid as he flees the current Jewish king, Shaul. The powerful message that comes across is the integrity displayed by Dovid during this confusing and terrifying time in his life. The similarities and relevance it has to our modern times are quite remarkable and timely.
